Our story

Samatha was founded in 2024 with a simple yet powerful mission: to bring people together, promoting peace, equality, and cultural preservation of Kerala.

Samatha Australia serves as a unifying platform for all Malayalees residing in Australia, guided by the principles of peace and equality. The name "Samatha" itself embodies our commitment to fostering unity and harmony among Keralites in Australia, transcending the boundaries of caste, creed, sex, and religion.

Our logo, inspired by the rich cultural tapestry of Australia's indigenous peoples, encapsulates the core values of peace, togetherness, and equality. Depicting individuals gathered around a circular wood stump, it symbolizes the importance of unity and collective strength. The presence of the dove signifies our pursuit of peace, while the flower represents growth and prosperity within our community.

At Samatha, we are dedicated to promoting equality through the principles of secularism and the empowerment of women in leadership roles. Our endeavors are centered around preserving and celebrating the vibrant culture of Malayalees, marking significant milestones and cultural festivities with fervor and pride.

Furthermore, we strive to cultivate a thriving community by nurturing and showcasing the rich tapestry of arts, movies, performing arts, and literature rooted in the Malayalam language. Through these cultural expressions, we aim to foster a deep sense of belonging and identity among our members.
